Peradeniya garden is one of Sri Lanka's largest botanical gardens located ~20KM from Aqua Dunhinda. The park attracts ~2MM visitors a year and borders the Mahaweli River which runs across Aqua Dunhinda. The park is renowned for its collection of orchids and includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres and is managed by the department of agriculture in Sri Lanka.
